Becca's Fantasy Life

It is 2132 and humanity has become obsessed with virtual reality. Most people now spend at least half their lives working, playing and exploring digital worlds from the safety of their own homes. 

Living in large houses has become a thing of the past, as most people moved into shoebox apartments to afford the latest and greatest VR headsets, running mats, controllers and feedback units. Life for humanity has become sedentary at best, and downright sloth like for most.  The obesity pandemic has spread even to countries like Japan and South Korea who previously seemed immune to the effects of over eating.

Take on the role of Becca, a girl in her mid twenties who so far has spent most of her life logged into different VR worlds.  Because of a generous amount of money left to her by her grandfather before he passed away, she has never had to actually work a single day in her entire life. Lately she has been obsessed with the world of Lipodia. There she plays as Crassus the dwarven warrior. A highly skilled sword wielder with a penchant for escaping deadly traps and breaking even the strongest foe!

While Becca may be powerful in game, in real life things may be a little different...

Ideas:

• While in VR, humans use feeding tubes to feed themselves, Becca's just broke.
• Switch between fantasy story and reality, with each trip back and forth becoming more jarring.
• Tiny apartment, after a while Becca will struggle to move around
• Not a lot of images, but a lot of writing.
• Two maps, one fantasy on the line map, and one for Becca's apartment.

Progress:

• A first demo of the game has been released, which contains a lot of the basis for what the full game will become. Try it out!
• Map for the apartment has been finished, and most of the writing for Becca's first two stages is
• Tried going in a new direction, but the results ended up less than desirable. Back to my old art style, but a lot more fantasy going on this time, at least while Becca is online.
