Tjenvett Saga Chapter 1 - Roadtrip Woes

Introduction:

Hey there people of the internet. It's your favorite flaky game developer that keeps banging his head into the wall to silence the voices. However, this time there seems to be some voices wanting to get out, and I think I'll try to let them. As quest has been updated to 5.9, with some promising ideas about the future of the program being tossed around, I have found some little spark of motivation to get things moving again, and as such: A new (very small) project arose from the back of my twisted mind and caught my interest. This is not a replacement for the Joseph Earnwile games, but I need to get myself going again before coming back to the series and finishing it off properly.

I have joined the Road Trip Game Jam, and a such the theme for the game will be: well, you can kind of guess that one for yourselves.

The Story:

Ida Tjenvett is tired of living at home with her mom. After her dad left early in her life, her and her mom had survived. Co-excisting with her mother Martha in the small house Ida's dad had given them before leaving was not easy. Especially as a barrage of men came and went in Martha's life without ever staying for long enough that Ida even bothered to learn their names anymore. That was until Adrian the leech came along. For some reason he stuck arround...

Then it all came to a head a few weeks before Ida's 20th birthday. Adrian was on a roll, being even meaner than normal. His barrage of comments about Ida's newly expanded hips and muffintop, his constant nagging about rent after the shop she had worked in went belly up, and his generally crappy demeanor coupled with Martha's complete lack of support and her quickly dwindling savings made it clear that Ida would need to make some sort of change in her life.

Scraping together what little money she had, and contacting her dad for the first time in years she quickly made up a plan. With some prices and plans on a stickynote, a very simple map of Europe printed from the internet and a message from her dad about his location on her phone she sets off towards what she hopes will be a new and better life. Free from nagging, free from responsibility and if she isn't careful: out of pants that will button around her expanding waist.

The idea:

A short game to get the writer's juices flowing again.

No art in this one, to prevent my usual art burnout.

Descriptions and character will be in focus, especially description of changes that happen with the main character's body as she slowly makes her way south through Europe.

Female protagonist.

The usual weight gain schtick, but maybe a bit more toned down than usual.

A somewhat happy ending?

FAQ:

Will there be art? No

Will you add X, Y, Z fetish? Probably not

Why are you making something that isn't a game I want to see finished? For my own amusement and to get back into the swing of things.

When will it be finished? Hopefully by the end of the submission period for the game jam. If not: whenever it is or isn't.

Will it cost money? When finished: yes (the usual whole $1, with a suggested $1 tip). But, I will let you guys have the first few updates for free, and leave a finished 0.2 version up as a demo when the time comes to publish the game.
